June 2024 Newsletter
Summer has officially arrived and, depending on where you live, has been felt for a while with record setting temperatures. The change of seasons is something we all experience in Canada. Four distinct times of weather patterns, foliage changes and temperature swings. God’s creation is amazing!
Life tends to bring changes too. It is the end of the school year, and many students, teachers and parents are happy to be free from the daily schedule of buses, lunches and homework. The weeks ahead offer opportunities for new adventures of travel, times of rest or a simple change of pace.
Whatever sits on your horizon, I pray you take time to enjoy this season of warm weather and longer days. Take care of yourself by going for a walk, sitting on the deck or reading a book while enjoying an air-conditioned space. The moments pass quickly – so take the time to experience them fully.
Psalm 23:1-3 reminds us that God cares about this too:
“The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul”
God has instituted rest into the rhythm of our lives. Ask Him to lead you to times of refreshing during the next few months. And may your soul be restored!

Annual General Meeting
June 5, 2024
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on June 5, 2024 with the members of the charity in attendance. The membership consists of our Board of Directors: Carmen Hust, Karen Fishwick, and Alexis Carty. Also in attendance were our Board advisor (Sandy Davidson), Executive Director (Craig Hillier), Clinical Director (Jen LeBlanc), Business Director (Kerri Guther) and Auditor (James Herzog). We would like to thank Knox Presbyterian Church in Manotick for opening space to us to hold our meeting.
The auditor shared his findings of the audit and submitted financial reports for approval. This was a clean audit.
If you would like to read the Annual Report 2023 you will find it here
We thank God for keeping us through a year of change and for His continued blessing in all His provision. We are also thankful for all the support, both financially and through prayer, from our donors and volunteers. Because of this network CCO is positioned to continue to assist those who come to us for therapy.
Our Team is Growing!
To meet demand and strengthen CCO, we have hired 4 new therapists. Two began in May, and two more the first week of June. Each brings skills and experience, strengthening the team, making us better equipped to serve our clients. We are now able to serve clients ages 13 and up, lowering the threshold from age 16. You can see our team members bios here
Our team continues to be under the supervision of Tyndale Wellness Centre’s supervisors. This partnership has been a blessing to the therapists, bringing deeper understanding of the best practices and standards of therapy. We thank the Tyndale team for their time and effort as they hold monthly supervision meetings allowing our therapists to grow professionally.
