Jan is a registered social worker (#849528) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She holds a Degree in Social Work from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and has been a professional in social work and psychotherapy for more than 20 years. Prior to her joining our team, she worked with Youth for Christ and The Navigators, serving teens and young adults from hard places. She was also an adjunct college professor and an equine assisted psychotherapist.
Jan believes that the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client is essential for growth and healing to occur. She believes that each client has a unique experience and deserves a treatment approach that is unique to them. She brings honesty, compassion and authenticity to the counseling room and desires to help hurting people find the answers and resources they need for health and healing.
Jan works primarily with adolescents, adult individuals and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, complicated grief and loss, marriage, infertility and adoption challenges, OCD, trauma, life transitions, women's issues, identity, spirituality and faith.
