Willis is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#14464). He holds a Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, from Martin Luther University College, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo Ontario, and a Ph.D. from the University of Johannesburg South Africa. Willis has experience in general counseling, both for individuals and couples, with an emphasis on trauma, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression. He provides spiritually integrated counseling to clients, in an empathic, client-centered, and non-judgmental manner.
Willis has worked extensively (over 8 years with the UN Children Fund- UNICEF), in challenging humanitarian situations, such as in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan, providing lifesaving services, including trauma counseling to victims of natural and other forms of man-made disasters, who have lost both their livelihood and their shelter.
Willis has also served in various pastoral and ministerial capacities, with various evangelical and Pentecostal assemblies. Willis is currently sitting on the Board of Elders, with Redeemer Alliance Church, Orleans where he is in charge of missionary and evangelism-related tasks.
Willis employs his experience, in both Christian and secular settings to provide a balanced holistic perspective on daily life challenges, that many clients do face. Some of the techniques he uses include humanistic/existential client-centered therapy, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as well as Solution focused and narrative therapy for single sessions. Willis works with individuals aged 16 and above, who are experiencing various mental health challenges including phobias, anxiety, depression, relational issues, grief, trauma, burnout, anger, and spiritual and social voids.
