Nan Wang 王楠 is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (#005208). Nan is also a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist of AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, MFT Professional Member ID 151819) She holds a Master of Divinity Degree majored in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University and Seminary in Toronto, Ontario. She has also completed Extern- ship for Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy training.
As a Christian therapist, she is here to support clients who she regards as courageous pilgrims progressing on life’s journey. She believes that the struggles on life's journey provide opportunities for the client to gain understanding and to grow spiritually and psychologically.
She works primarily with adult individuals and couples. She draws from attachment theory, family systems theory, trauma informed family of origin work, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients who struggle with various challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, anger, life transitions, relationships, communication struggles, social and spiritual issues. Emotionally-focused couple therapy (EFT) and Imago therapy are major tools for her to help couple clients.
